Cards That Haven't Aged Well

jskirwinjskirwin Posts: 700 ✭✭✭

As I've stated recently I'm back to the hobby after 10 years spent doing other stuff - like raising a US Navy recruit, collecting ancient Roman coins, and losing hair.

I've pulled out my old spreadsheets and I'm comparing SMR values from Nov 2006 with Ebay current sales. Some cards as you might expect have gone nuts - especially the high-end 8+ Mantles .

But are there any cards you can think of that have surprised you and not done well over the years?

For example, I'm looking at NM values on 1970 Mays that are right in line with current sales ($80). Is it the grade or has Willie lost his mojo?

There are still lots of bargains out there. You can get 1971 baseball psa 7's And 8's for decent prices considering its a iconic tough set.

IT CAN'T BE A TRUE PLAYOFF UNLESS THE BIG TEN CHAMPIONS ARE INCLUDED
