New Scanner Failed Me

Or maybe it's me. Got a new Epson V550 for Christmas and it worked great the first few weeks, left it for a few weeks and now I can't get it to work properly. Powers up fine but the scan button won't start the process. I hit the Epson icon on the desktop, says it does not communicate with the scanner but when I hit OK the scanner starts a short cycle with the scanning bar and stops. I'm babbling sorry but any recommendations you guys have to get it going again? Thanks. Doug

Pull the power cord from the back, reinsert it and try again. Happens to me sometimes.

    uninstall and reinstall!

I have had a lot of trouble with the connection of my V600 with my laptop that runs Windows 10. I had to download software to get it to work and it disconnects all of the time. I have found pulling the cable out and rebooting the computer are helpful but not 100%. I have also found that when I right click on the icon and hit the open button that seems to work better too. I did uninstall it and reinstall and that worked for a little bit but it wasn't a complete fix. It also reset my settings and thankfully someone on the boards when I asked pointed me in the right direction to reset it to 300 DPI and that worked for my scans. Unfortunately I don't think it works that well with Windows 10 if that is what you have but once you get the connection the scanner works perfect. Good luck.
