i know that this is a topic that has been on here a lot but why has mattinglys donruss psa 9 prices going up the last two months. mattingly is not even on the ballot anymore so why the increase.

He remains a popular player. Similar to Bo Jackson (in that he is not a HOFer but remains popular in the hobby). This is also an iconic card and the PSA 10 grade carries quite a price tag.
I'm pretty sure Mattingly has the most graded cards for a non-HOF'er (someone did a post on this a while back, Pete Rose was 2nd I think followed by Bo or McGwire), his rookie cards helped get people collecting cards again when there was a lull, and people forget that the Yankee mystique helps.
