Fun Bags!!

Yes, sadly, not THOSE fun bags, but I have a question on packs distributed in fun packs issued by Topps. Slightly off-topic, but I know we have fellow Star Wars nerds like myself in the audience who may be able to help.

I'm looking at the 1977/1978 fun packs. There's the version that comes with sports packs and Star Wars Series 4 packs. There's also a version that comes with Star Wars Series 1 packs and a bunch of those random assorted, non-descriptive packs.

My question - are the Star Wars Series 1 packs in those bags regular issue packs, or do they contain less cards than the standard wax?

Thanks!

  • ....oh man, I do LUVS me some FUN BAGS (yes, THOSE kinds)....I digress.
The 1978 Fun Bags do contain full size packs, best to my knowledge. However,
there are 1977 & 1978 Fun Bags with 'fun packs' that do not have the regular issued
packs in them You can clearly see what packs are inside since the wrappers
are a more generic type as opposed to Topps Original. Also, they claim those
have Series 1 Star Wars 2-card fun packs in them whereas the regular issued
FUN BAGS have Series 4, regular packs. Hope this helps a little....

Thanks. The fun packs I was looking at was the ones with the 2 card generic packs, and then 8 packs of Star Wars Series 1, which appear to be in the original wrappers, but I wasn't sure if those were standard packs, or were specially made for the fun packs and only had 2 or 3 cards, eventhough they were wrapped in the C-3P0 Series 1 wrappers.
