John Whitney Walter collection catalogue

My wife and I volunteer at a local library sorting books for its annual book sale. Today I picked up from recent donations a copy of a Stack's catalogue from November 1990 covering the sale of the John Whitney Walter collection of 79 gold and silver coins for Roman emperors from 82 BC to 235 AD. The catalogue is full of gorgeous color photos and descriptions, but I don't collect ancients, so it is somewhat wasted on me. I would be willing to send it on to someone for mailing costs ($3?).

I am going to suggest that anybody interested indicate that interest in a reply to this thread (no personal information, please), not later than the end of January 11. I will randomly select a "winner" and then PM that person asking for mailing details. (BTW, I will be at NYINC on Friday, January 13, so if the winner is attending that same day, we could just meet sometime that day.)

Hope this beautiful catalogue is of interest!!

    Hello!

I would love to get this catalog. I don't collect ancients, yet, but plan to do so some day probably. More importantly, however, is that I've actually met Mr. Walter. He is, or was, a member of the NYNC (ANA Charter Member #1, and includes VDB as a founding member).

Mr. Walter was also "Mr. 1796" with his collection of the finest examples of every die marriage of every 1796-dated US coin. (In that catalog, he was named "John Whitney", presumably as an alias.)

He is a real gentleman and really, REALLY, knowledgeable about many areas of coinage. And, btw, he is a cousin of our President-elect.
