Check out these Nomar cards I got 4 my wife; with #'s matching our anniversary & graduation years!

As you can see, my wife's all time favorite Red Sox player (besides Ted or Yaz of course) is Nomar Garciaparra (for those of you don't remember he's the guy who did that weird thing with this hands at bat after every pitch). And seeing the two cards above I knew I just had to start her on the Ultra Platnium series of his cards. Why is that you might ask? Because for the 1998 Ultra Pizzaz #480 the serial number is 17/98...and 17 is our anniversary date (6/17/05)! But that's not all! For the 1999 Ultra Platnium Medallion card, it is numbered 74/99...now what makes that one special? Well it just so happens she graduated from high school in 1974 and I graduated in 1999! Both our graduation years on one card serial number! :)

Of course I hope to get her more of these Nomar Ultra Platinums in the future. I personally managed to pick up a few years ago the complete sets of 1996-2000 Ultra Gold Medallion (yes they all include the SP's) to go with the 1995 one I already had. Now of course getting a complete Platinum Medallion set is pretty much impossible but I am glad to get her started on a single player set/run at least! :)

Nomar is a Boss, when my brother in law made his MLB debut at Fenway back in the day as a reliever he was doing okay until Nomar hit a seed in the gap. Nomar had it all and them married Mia Hamm, their kids will be gifted.

Estil, cool cards! Nomar had an incredible stretch before the injuries.

Thunderdan, this literally made me laugh my butt off for a good minute! I read it 10 minutes later and laughed just as hard.

Believe it or not, she got her bachelor's degree from New Hampshire, and their mascot too is the Wildcats! And yes me and my wife do have a March-December thing going on ;) Age is just a number after all; I could've just as easily married an 18 year old if the circumstances were right back then. Then again I was only 25 at the time so that wouldn't be that much an age difference anyway.

Those are cool. Even as a Yankees fan I always liked Nomar. The mid 90s were the shortstop glory days to me with Nomar, Arod, Jeter, Tejada, etc.
