1953 Bowman black and white set value

Any idea what a complete set in EX/EXMT would go for? I have the chance to buy this set from a local collector.

You can build a complete PSA 5 set for around $1,500 and a complete PSA 6 set for around $3,000.

Anyone know why there are virtually no stars in this set?

I've sold 4 Black and White Sets in various grades, and am always building sets of both the '53 Bowmans.

Some of the high numbers such as Smalley, Gromek and Hanson are expensive $$$ in PSA 6, multiples more than the guides indicate and almost never come available. Very hard to find a consistently assembled set.

What is the collector asking for the set? If consistent, a PSA 6 set with several 5's could go for $3500. My guess is around $2,200 to $3,000 depending on the centering, corners and other issues. That said, I'd be cautious not to purchase the set if any cards are trimmed.

    Best of luck!

    HAPPY COLLECTING!!!
