1970 Baseball

Does anyone know if there are any really tough cards in the 1970 Topps Baseball set? Or, do you think it's too soon to tell?

  • Though I haven't actively upgrading this set, my limited experience would say the following a difficult:

    #1 World Champions
    #61 (?) NL Batting Leaders

The all star cards can be very tough. They have very thin borders to begin with which magnifies OC problems. There are several that I've never seen on eBay.

    Robert,

I don't think there have really been enough graded to tell just yet. I went thrugh the Pop report about 2 weeks ago and there are still about 15 - 20 cards that haven't gotten an 8 yet and many more where there is only 1 in eight. I think as we see more of the registered sets near 90% that we'll see that certain cards are missing amongst the top sets and that will start to narrow it down.

I've been trying to figure a way to know which are the tough ones before everyone else figures it out so I can plunk down a $20 bid and snag them before others realize it. So far - not much luck.

    Guys,
I think it might be too early but I also think there will be a few real tough ones just like in all years. The Allstar cards are real tough I agree. I have quite a few in bulk and there all crap. Really bad cut. I think Stargell is tough, The World Champions Team that you mentioned a few of the high's are also badly cut.
