SMR is free for the top stars. ebay last 60-90 days worth of sales is easy to search as well...and free.

Checking eBay for completed sale prices is your best option. Vintage Card Prices is good but you have to pay to look at it.

Thanks guys I have what I need for now. I am guessing the most sports cards are not worth that much and the good cards or key date cards need to be graded by a reputable grading company and hopefully graded high to sell well. I am a coin guy and hang out there most days so I have a little knowledge about the coin market. I am just doing a favor for my nephew...
