Funny eBay Reseller Story and Listing

So I recently sold a 1965 Topps Perez RC PSA 7 on eBay, 9 days ago. The buyer sent me a few offers for the card, and in the offers stated that the card was for his son. I usually don't listen to what people say on offers cause you never know if they're telling the truth. Well we eventually agreed on a price and i sell it to him. 9 days later, today, he lists the same exact card for sale with a slightly higher auction starting price and in the description he says, "Trimming down my collection from when I was younger." I had to laugh. So the guy tried lying about the card being for his son, and then he relists it 9 days later and says its from his old collection in his younger days.

That is true though. He was 9 days younger.
His son obviously wanted an 8 or higher...
What an ass.
Insert witicism here. [ xxx ]
I see this on occasion. As soon as the person making the offer states the card is a gift, I look at their inventory and selling history. If they are an obvious flipper, ignore. If it appears they are not a reseller, i attempt to accommodate the buyer. I have received photo feedback in the past from buyers of reactions or poses of the gift recipient of the card during a party or christmas, which makes me smile.
Please let me know who this is as I am looking for one for my son, ironic.
To be honest, no direction, but...

Cool name for your son. I once considered naming my daughter Happenstance.
Don't be surprised if he tries to return it if it does not sell .

Thanks Kb, seller has been emailed a question.
Edited to add: Erased incorrect info.
If I'm looking at the correct card, the buyer paid $100 via best offer.
You are correct, my bad.
Yes thats the one. I sold it for $100 best offer.
I also like how he notes it was in a pet and smoke free home for 9 days.

So if it sells the guy pockets about $12 after fees and shipping cost.
lol what a cut throat business

Don't forget he then has to split that with his son.
To borrow from a well-known thread on blowout, his son is a metaphor.
Had it happen to me. Sold a Joe Greene card to guy "who loved him as a kid & was one of his favorites" and a week later it was on Ebay. Just had to laugh.
I have gotten to where I ignore 90% of the comments that come in any offer. I definitely dont need someone to give me a history on what a given card has sold for. I recently listed some rookies of a rainbow collection I just sold off ebay for almost $3000. One of the rookies is #ed/25, this one buyer has sent me lowball offers for the past 2 months, often half of what the most recent one sold for (within a week). This last time, he had bought one listed as damaged, that wouldnt grade a 6 because of corner damage and tried to use that as an example of what they are selling for.
Long story short, send me what you are willing to pay, I will either counter, accept or decline.
Here is the response I got from the seller.
"I am a disabled vet who buys cards online for my son to keep, or to sell, whichever he would like. We are also in the process of trimming down my collection from when I was young. Tens of thousands of cards. Trust me, I am no liar and not stupid either. Just going through my old cards and picking up some new ones on the way. I wonder why you are expending so much energy on a card that you aren't even going to buy? Your question was is it a newly graded card, holo style, or not. It's clearly not but once you figured out the answer to your question why not just move on? Good day."
Just for clarity, I never asked if the card was newly graded or not.
My son died tragically and so I need to return the card

Slightly off topic, and I don't even remember if it was a buyer or a seller. But once I got the, "My dad died and that's why it's taken me a few weeks." So, I googled her name, and did find the obituary of her dad. I'm glad I was civil in my responses, as she was actually telling the truth.

People that use I am a disabled vet to get sympathy or to get free stuff are the scum of the earth to me. Not saying he is or isn't but that phrase is used to much by fake people. I am 100% Disabled American Veteran.
