$5 1899 Chief Need a price hint

This one is not graded, has a central fold which can be seen only under the light. Tried to sell it on Ebay for a pretty long time for $2200, no bids. Maybe the price is a bit steep... don't know. How much can I get for it?

The issue you may be having with this note is it's a processed note(cleaned, pressed, stains lightened and who knows what else has been done). It clearly has more than one fold that I can see and is listed in the census as a VF20.Although it may look better(and may very well be better than a 20) it is the processing that made it look that way.It also appears to be trimmed a bit as well.If it were to get graded you would quickly see it is a VF note. That said, folks buy, knowingly, processed notes all the time, but, the group is smaller and the price is (way)lower.
