MTG Black Lotus is definitely one to be considered.

If we are talking back then, the 1992 Fleer Rookie Sensations Frank Thomas card was going for big money and people went crazy at shows buying up and opening those jumbo packs. Still a fun card to chase in packs, and with a population of only 3 in a PSA 10, it is a $2000+ card in that grade.

Definitely two different styles of lists can be made here: top 5 during the '90's upon issuance vs. top 5 as selected today based on how those players panned out over their careers.

I remember the 1990 Donruss Nolan Ryan wrong back cards being hot for a little while. I sold a pair for $100 shortly after they came out.

The items that come to my mind first are in no particular order the 1992 Zinedine Zidane, 1990 F.Thomas NNOF, 1993 SP Jeter, MTG Black Lotus, 1991 D.S. Chipper, plus the big Jordan insert that was talked about on here a lot and sold for some crazy price but I forget which one it was. Also could consider the top RC's for P.Manning and Kobe plus the 1996 SIFK Tiger Woods even if it has come down over the past year or two.

Years ago, this list may have instead items more like 1990 Leaf Thomas, 1990 Score Canadian Lindros, 1990 UD French Fedorov & Bure (simply amazing how hot the UD French set was for a brief time), RC's of Ben McDonald/Todd V.P./ B.Taylor, many error cards to pick from, 1990 Score B&W Bo Jackson, and probably a whole pile of other items that are considered junk wax now.

No real value to the card but I put the the 1990 Score B&W Bo Jackson card up there. It might be one of the most iconic sports photos ever taken.

    Appreciate today-

FYI, a PSA 8 Zidane sold a few days ago for $750. Does anyone have any verifiable sales data for either of the PSA 9's?
