Henry VIII Groats are Affordable & Historically Important
A significant collection of Henry VIII Groats may be assembled without spending much on any one coin. Indeed, an almost complete type set of Groats from Edward I to Charles II would not be extremely expensive.
Over the last few years, I have authored a series on classic U.S. coins that cost less than $500 each, including ideas for whole sets that may be completed with such a price limitation. More recently, I have been writing about pre-1900 world coins that may be collected for prices between $50 and $1000.
Do the members of this forum enjoy collecting historically important and/or very interesting pre-1900 world coins for prices in the $50 to $1000 price range, especially from $300 to $700 each? Do any of you agree with me that Henry VIII Groats are good values for collectors at current market levels?
Does anyone agree that hammered Groats are really neat coins?

I still need a groat of his for my historical figures collection. I agree that they are very interesting coins and that they are affordable. I am just looking for the right one.
Here is an example of an historically interesting coin for a great price. I just bought this one today. It is a 5 Franc piece of Napoleon III.
Cool.
I always liked the story about how he got the nickname "Old Coppernose" from the coin debasing.
