As a 5 year old when it happened, I don't remember where I was, but I remember it happening shortly after I got home from school. (Half day Kindergarten at the time.) What I do remember is going to church the next day with my mother. The church was packed with mostly moms (crying the entire time) and their kids. Hard to believe it was 53 years ago.

Liquidating my collection for the 3rd and final time. Time for others to enjoy what I have enjoyed over the last several decades. Money could be put to better use.

for those that remember. Was in grade school at the time. IIRC we were sent home early that day. Thanks for acknowledging the date.
