That obverse is strange. A rare lds of one of the Newcombs with obverse cracks?
I don't know but curious as what increased the price by 1500% on this coin.

Hard to tell from poor worn images, but I believe
this is an 1831 N-9 that has die cracks along the top
of the date & up thru the left 8 stars and about 5 of
the right stars.
As the cracks progressed star 4 had a die break that
had a large piece of metal fall out of the die resulting
in the expanded die break.
Often collectors like to have examples of these stages.
