Yes, I've done that from time to time.

Better question to go along with this is, "Would you tell the auctioneer to cancel the sale at a live auction that you were attending" because of a very low price win? I have thought about it before also, however it is an auction and the seller is taking a risk to sell it in that format of sales.

eBay sellers already know there are only a handful of bidders left on eBay and those bidders are only interested in ripping the sellers coins.

Absolutely not. Those are the deals I want.

I've told sellers at shows a few times when they've quoted something in error. A BIN mistake too. But, an auction is an auction. I've had a few sell well below what I thought they 'should' and sadly no one offered to cancel the sale or offered more money. It's the lumps of the auction format. IMO of course.

Agreed, the seller is posing all risks with an auction; high or low bid outcome.

This makes me think of a thread that was posted years ago.
One of the members here listed a large group of auctions with a BIN price by mistake. Several members bought them all and let the guy list them again in the correct way. A lot of kindness shown that day.

Nope it's an auction. The seller wouldnt give the buyer back money, if it went for more then he expected it to go for

Exactly. An auction that runs its course is one thing, and almost by definition is showing the true market value for that day and that time. A simple mistake or technical error is different.

I agree that an auction is an auction. I usually start my listings at the lowest price I can live with.
