Question on PCGS Registry "showcases"
![jwitten](https://us.v-cdn.net/6027503/uploads/userpics/481/nCE5IEIKQFU9N.jpg)
Can you add non-pcgs coins to a showcase? I can add them to my "inventory", but they are not showing up as available to add to a showcase.

I do not think so, but you can email the registry group for an official answer. They are very good about answering questions in a timely manner.
Currently no, I have ask BJ to please allow raw and other slabs in showcases since there are no point values anyway. She said that she would run it by the higher ups. I have not heard back. I plan to talk to her in person at FUN about this.
If you are talking about an album with images, then yes you can, at least I was able to add non trueview images from my computer. When I think of a "showcase" I think of customized sets that pcgs does not have a registry, like my 19th Century Everyman Set.

What's a showcase? Are you talking about a digital album? If so then no, you cannot add images for non-PCGS coins because they are not allowed in registries.
Yes, you can add your own images to a digital album if it is for a PCGS coin that is a member of your registry set.

So, I figured out a way to cheat the system. All I want is one of those showcase albums... not a registry set or anything. You can add the number of a generic pcgs graded coin that is the same grade, then add your own picture. Are there any problems doing that? What if that cert number belongs to someone else, and they try to add it to their registry set? Again, I would not use anyone elses coins or pictures in an actual registry set, just piggyback someone elses number to let it add your picture to your own showcase album.
Only one person can own a coin. If you add a coin that is not yours then the real owner cannot register it (in his inventory, or registry, or digit album).
PCGS would be extremely unhappy about it. Don't try it. The consequences would be severe.

I for one don't believe that is a good idea.
If you use a cert # that belongs to someone else then they will not be able to add it to their inventory, from what I have seen, I may be wrong but I don't think I am.
I also think you must 'have possession' of the coin to add to your inventory.
Perhaps someone else knows more.......................

That makes sense. They need a way to add raw or ngc coins to just your showcase without having them be in your registry. I was messing around with it, and made a few screen shots of what it would look like with my ngc coins as well, but went ahead and deleted the generic pcgs cert numbers to not cause problems.

I also asked her about allowing comments on Showcase sets, but nothing ever happenend. PIty. There are some sets that deserve some props there.

md, I feel the same way. They should allow comments on the showcases. Many people now participating there with some killer sets.
