I had never seen this medal before but like it. I can't help but note that Gasparro's self-portrait looks a bit like Ike on the Eisenhower Dollar.
Yeah, it seems a lot ended up in melt piles. I'm sure someone still has one though! I agree about the Ike dollar comparison. Lol
