You want eBay Bucks do you???

...I figured out how to get an eBay Bucks promo to show up...I am 99% sure I know how...gotta spread the love so here goes nothing...add some items in your shopping cart and leave them there for 24 hours...then sign in and one by one, remove each item from your shopping cart and sign out...the next day, you should have a promo in your mailbox...today it's 8% for me, last time...it was 10%! Try it boys and girls ;)

    I am guessing it might just be coincidence since I also received 8% today and have nothing in my cart and never do.

    PS, also got it on my second account today, no cart.

    ...yup...I think you are correct as my pops just got the 8% also! Wishful thinking but I'll still take the 8%...must have been the 7 full sized Snicker bars I ate past 1am that had me seriously trippin ;)

    I think I'll try it..I never receive promos for discounts even though I've been signed up for over ten years and well over 1,000 transactions (buy and sell). I'll let you know if anything happens.

    Make sure that you are signed up for eBay Bucks. You have to register for eBay Bucks before you will get any offers. One other thing that I do in my set up is click the box to receive Ebay promotions.

    I do, I just never get them. I guess by now they have figured out I'm going to buy anyway.

    Haven't got an eBay bucks offer in 2 years. I just get the standard 1% on every purchase. :smirk:

    Well, I tried the "technique" the OP prescribed.but unfortunately nothing happened. No offers .. I guess I must be living in a no fly zone for Ebay.

    If you want ebay bucks promotions you have to agree to receive ebay promotions...ebay spam, almost daily. There's no trick other than that.

    Click on the account tab, then select communication preferences, and scroll to the bottom.

    I also got the 8% offer, with no items in cart. However, I do keep items on the watch list, that may be the trick!
    And I used it and saved $$$

    When you receive the eBay Bucks email, it usually comes on Tuesday sometimes on Wednesday and rarely on Thursday. I have never received the eBay Bucks email on the weekend.

    I have the email promotions box selected but still NEVER get the offers.

    I also have always had the promotions boxes checked, have things on the watch list all of the time, and tried the OP's suggestion to no avail. I once (a long time ago) called their customer service line and was told that the promotions are given out "randomly" and there was no way for them to add me manually to receive them. As you "chosen ones" know, that is not true. The "chosen ones" always receive them regularly while the rest of us sit on the sidelines year after year waiting for the "random selection" lotto to hit.

    I do the same, and seem to get the offers that some of the others are receiving, including the recent 8%.

    I signed up for all Ebay marketing emails, I received 5(!) yesterday. I also make a point of clicking on the occasional marketing email (they can track those clicks), such as Apmex marketing emails.

    I just thought of an odd idea.... I signed up on eBay (and Bucks) under a particular username..but changed that name years ago. I wonder if that has something to do with it? I'll call them today.

    I tend to end up with higher fees and more restrictions from that venue. Like Russ used to say " greed is good"... ( RIP big guy )
    Seems Amazon is following suit too. Sellers tend to get the shaft in these auction houses. Glad to see the buyers get something for nothing. :unamused:

    Buck promotions are offered to accounts that have actively been making purchases. Normally, no buying activity equals no offer.

    I get the eBay bucks email on a regular basis. Below is my profile:

    Regular buyer of coins on eBay.
    Seller of coins on eBay and I try to always have at least one coin for sale.
    When I receive the eBay Bucks email, I try to buy at least one coin.
    Signed up for eBay promotions and I get the marketing emails.
    Do not use eBay shopping cart
    Do not use the eBay watch list

    Dollar amounts and buying frequency are the 2 biggest hitters I have known so far .. bidding advantage with Bonus ... a big plus

    They seem to decide once per year if you are going to get it or not. At least in the accounts I have.

    Of course not. I haven't received an eBay bucks 2x/3x/4x since March 2014. The customer service lady said she'd contact the marketing dept to see why. :neutral:

    This has been my experience as well, I used to get them regularly and I would take advantage roughly half the time the bonuses were offered. Suddenly about 18 months ago they stopped coming. Nothing about my account or bid patterns changed, I was just somehow deemed unworthy.

    I have basically the same profile, but I have NEVER received an e-mail or offer from eBay re: purchases.

    On the other hand I get e-mails weekly from eBay on how to improve my sales with additional listing information. People buy from good photos- not listing BS.

    I started a thread about ebay bucks promotions over in the PM forum , a few quarters ago . looking back at the timing of past promotions is a pretty good indicator of whats coming up. So far its not much help of what % might occur though.

    I get them every 1-2 weeks it seems. Cashed in on 10% two weeks ago. Recently had an 8% offer. No idea...

    Anyone remember Bing rewards when Microsoft was promoting the search engine? 20-25% rewards.... drool
