I will be interested to see if in a few months, more of these are available, and the price drops to the $100 level a la the 98P. I know people routinely pay this much for Walkers in this grade (and sometimes much more), but let's face it....JFK halves are not Walkers. Don't get me wrong, I love Kennedys, maybe way more than most people here, but they are not Walkers, and the price jumps seen in the last 6 months are not justified. That is only my opinion...anyone else is free to collect what they want and spend as much as they want.

  • I had that coin locked at 400, then raised my bid to 500, then raised my bid to 600, and still was out bid at 610, would have been interesting to see if I locked it at 700, if I would still have been out bid...

Matt: Not spoken like the fellow who was predicting a couple weeks ago "the sky was falling" on MS Kennedy prices! image

Here is one for sale on Teletrade next Wednesday June 12. Sold a couple weeks ago for $725 and was returned probably because the person bid way too much. Who knows.1991-P PCGS-67 Kennedy Half

The Pop is in the teens with none better: This is a $500.00- $650.00 Kennedy in my opinion.

Mainly sour grapes on my part...if I had that kind of money, I might be a player in more of these auctions, but for now, ya gotta love those MS66s!! Much more affordable...and almost as nice!

I figure get MS-66's out and upgrade later!

  • Mitch, I hope this dosent mean your raising your prices I hate to see you with overpriced inventory just sitting there collecting dust.image I think its a 500-600 dollar coin, this was also a pop 7 in 1999, a pop 9 just untill a short time ago and now a pop 12. harder to get in MS 67 than some years like the 89 P.

P.S. Mitch its still early in this prices will fall therory....the pops and coins graded the jury is still out....image
  • P.S. Iam a MAJOR reason these prices are rising, as I bid to win if I lose the coin you will pay the price bidding against me.....As more of these sets get completed there will be fewer players at these high prices....and they will fall.....
  • Bcsican: I hope so...

Although I don't think I'm doing so bad... I'm at 34% Completion with average grade at 66.38.
As soon as I upgrade my MS-65 1989-P and get a few MS-67's I should be passing people left and right image

    What do you think?

By the way... Do you have any duplicates for sale?

Matt: You better PM me fast with a proposal for this 1989(p) PCGS-MS67 I've been holding (for you). I think there might be a "new player" entering the arena image Wondercoin.

I'll just sit back and wait for the right moment in time when those big guns get it out of their system. Then the Kennedys will fall back where they belong. There are still some good deals out there now and then, $610 is NOT a bargin for any Kennedy unless it's an early POP 1-3 in my opinion.
You only live life once, enjoy it like it's your last day. It just MIGHT be!

  • Raycyca: I'm not anywhere close to spending $150 + on MS-67 Kennedy's...
I'm in the same boat. I'm collecting MS-66's for now with reasonably priced 67's...

Plus I'm selling a few doubles to support my "Habit"

  • Mitch, is that the same 89 P that was a BIN at 1250.00 raised to 1350.00 on e-bay a week or two ago?
  • wondercoinwondercoin Posts: 16,968 ✭✭✭✭✭
Matt: Yes. Same coin (a consignment coin to me), although I thought the BIN was closer to $1500 with opening bid raised to $1350?? Anyway, it doesn't matter now. That is "ancient history". image As always, just PM me if you are interested in that coin or any other.

Despite the wild price fluctuations on these MS Kennedys, they are a terrific and fun collection to build. Wondercoin.

  • image That was funny!

    I want to upgade to a MS-66 !!!

I saw the MS-67... Slightly out of my price range for a Kennedy!
But I would spend that on a nice Type 2 $20 Liberty.
