Never participated in fantasy sports. They just don't appeal to me as I do feel it ruins how you watch the game. NFL games are like a chess match and I just enjoy it for what it is. To me it is the greatest sports spectacle next to World Cup Soccer.
With that said I do think that they should do away with Thursday Night Football as well as Saturday Football(exception of playoffs). Over saturation is never a good thing.
Also, the game has its ups and downs and it usually is dependent on superstars. When you have major stars at the end of their career or recently retired and no one yet to pick up the slack then the game tends to not be as dynamic. You can see the effect a Das Prescott and Ezekiel Elliott have on a team. Dallas was a boring, lackluster team for the better part of 20 years and then these two guys get drafted and all the sudden not only are the Dallas fans more engaged but also that Dallas Cowboy lore starts to creep back around the nation and they become a must see team. Maybe not "America's Team" but certainly they start to remind people of those days.
The same could be said about the Raiders.
With all that said. I will say the one problem I do see with watching NFL games is they seem a bit too scripted. It almost makes me start wondering about when I was a kid and I thought pro wrestling was real. Anytime you have an industry where billions of dollars are made dependent on the "storyline" then you always have to consider that question.
Commercials are a major problem as well. I cannot even watch the super bowl live anymore. The commercials kill it. Even when the 49ers were in the super bowl a few years back I found it excruciating to sit through all the commercials as well as all the pre game faux patriotism.
