Ebay no pays

Just finished a selling program on Sunday. 32 lots - 4 no pays. What are other member's experience with no pays?

I very rarely have non-paying bidders but I only sell maybe 50 items a year That being said, I just got one last week - the first one in years - a 56 Topps Mantle by a guy with one feedback. You just gotta wait the time and put in for a fee refund.

I think I have had maybe 4 out of my last 200. I just block and move on.

IT IS ALWAYS CHEAPER TO NOT SELL ON EBAY

I agree, although I wouldn't count them as no pays yet... four days isn't very long and tomorrow is payday for a lot of folks. But if so, block and move on.

I no pay'd once, I somehow didn't pay attention to the seller and set a snipe on an item I won. Ended up being elsipep. I messaged him and said I'd never pay and would accept a cancelation to speed up the process... he waited it out. Hopefully he blocked me too, so I can't ever do that again.

Some people take advantage of EBay's rules knowing they have time to pay. It happens.

I get a few but have been successful doing this:
    1. I send out a friendly reminder three days after the auction closes if they haven't paid.
    2. If no payment after seven days, I send a more firm reminder.
    3. If ten days go by, I submit a non-payment complaint with eBay. Normally, I then receive payment within a few days.

eBay doesn't come down hard on non-payers until they have a few non-payments so don't look for a lot of help from them. Even then, if they lose their privileges, they quite often start again with a new ID.

4 days isn't a long time eBay sends out reminders for you? I wait 7 days to give a friendly reminder then wait
another 7 days and send another friendly reminder than two day later start processing it as a non paying bidder.
I have had very few non-paying bidders over the years and guess what some of the ones who take forever to
    pay are now repeat customers.

All you guys who block people after 3-7 day are inpatient and are leaving money on the table in the long run.
I have never blocked a non-paying buyer. I just relist item and move on. You never know down the road you
may get a sale or bids out of that person.

I have one bidder who emails all the time asking if I will end my auction early and sell to him off eBay. He's never
willing to pay what I am looking for the card off eBay. This has been going on for months now drives me crazy.
Well some here would block him in a heartbeat and tell him to leave them alone. I just politely tell him I will pass
on his offers. You know what he bids on about 30-40% off my Frank Thomas auction never wins but he makes
    me money buy bidding.

Long story short be patient be polite you never know when that person you block on eBay will make you money
    in the future.

It happens, but thankfully not too often. I have one right now that hasn't paid in almost 2 weeks. I emailed them after 8 business days and they did communicate back asking for an extension. I will give them until next Monday and then file a non-payment complaint.

I'd block a non-paying dealer who stacks a last second snipe on my auction, then cancels within minutes after realizing he bid on the "other" variation of a card which is worth considerably more money, but he didn't bother to read the entire description, thereby losing my faith in his desire to do anything besides hustle up cheap stuff to flip for huge profit.

Which is what I like to do. So nah. :p

Just had a buyer pay for $100 card after 7 days he sent me an email saying sorry for taking so long to pay.
I never sent him an email about not paying nor did I blocked him. Oh he also said he would be purchasing
a few more cards from me in the near future.

This is why you should have patience when sell on eBay buyers are on there own time table not yours.

I only opened two unpaid item cases on the two high value items. One paid within 12 hours of the case being opened. The other has not responded and the 4 day waiting period is almost up. The other two low value lots paid in the last few days. Thank you every one for your input. I will exercise a little more patience in the future

Being "impatient" by sending them a reminder after 2 days often gets good results too.

EBay automatically sends a payment reminder email after 2 days.

Sort of. It's only automatic when the seller has chosen "yes" on this page.

In any case, personally, I wouldn't bother a buyer 2 days after the close of an auction. I'd wait more like 7 days before sending a reminder.
