You can actually see it better on the coin itself than the microscope image.

That was initially my thought as well, but on closer examination I think the spiral-bound notebook has a list of names and phone numbers, written very messily in a pen that bled through the page so it shows in reverse. The small sheet of decorative paper beyond that seems to have some identifications and supposed values of the rare treasures.
