Help finding remnants - Fr. 91 Woodchopper PCGS 60 Apparent

I'm selling off several notes in BS&T and Ebay when several years ago I had a 1907 $5 come back as PCGS 60 Apparent with remnants. I had thought the note would easily grade Ch CU so was surprised at the grade but now decided to sell it.

In selling, I have had a few questions which caused me to look closer at the note and in doing so I am even more stumped. I can't see the remnants and wondered if anyone else can? I see something on the far left reverse margin that looks like water marks, so that is the best I can find which would be even close.

Look at where my finger is pointing:

Is it just my eye, or is the small areas of "mounting remnant" the slightly discolored area(s) on the lower reverse corners? I do see the slight discoloration, but without a good angle can't say for sure.

Prrhaps the poor lighting? Here as an attempt to improve the photo angle - no editing of the photo and taken in natural window li

  • Maybe UV would show it better

I guess what I see of question would be just off the tip of the left heart and near the edge of the note on the right. Yes, intense light or possibly UV may show more. But unfortunately the holder will effect that process.

I think that eBay pics are better than the 2nd pics. They seem to show the residue of, probably, stamp hinging...tear off the hinge and many times it leaves a thin layer of glue that discolors with time. I have seen it on many first issue fractionals that were collected by stamp collectors and mounted as if they were stamps. For those not into fracs...first issues simulated stamps stuck onto paper...as a form of currency.

Thank you for the discussion, the note has bids on ebay so will sell - the price is pretty low for such a nice note but it is what it is...
