NYINC

Starting 2018, the NYINC will be held at the Grand Hyatt (next to Grand Central Terminal) and not be the same weekend as the FUN show.

For 2017, it will be at the Waldorf-Astoria as usual.

I don't see the 2018 information reflected on their web site yet. Too early, I guess.

That's a poor choice in venue. I have been there on multiple conferences - poor layout and the "neighborhood" has become very sketchy in recent years with homelessness and beyond. The only positive is the easy access to Grand Central. They probably got a good deal as a result.

By 2018 I should have pretty direct train service...any idea on the dates? I set my schedule a year in advance for the most part, so it's never too early to find out. How cool to make this!

That venue is only a few (city) blocks away from the current place. I think that will be convenient for most people coming into the city.

Have never been there though so have no idea how the Hyatt is as a venue.

I think the bigger news is that the scheduling will be done to avoid conflict for those also wanting to attend FUN.

Apparently, at the Waldorf, there was no choice in scheduling, so the conflict with FUN couldn't be avoided.

The Grand Hyatt (which was, FYI, an early Trump project), is a huge glass monstrosity and poorly laid out (agree with Zohar on this). But I work in the neighborhood and don't find it particularly bad in any way. The area is crowded because of the terminal and subway station, but that also allows things like the food market and many inexpensive dining options.

The bright side is the whole bourse will now be in one large room.

The dates for 2017 are 12-15 January, which don't conflict with FUN. But I haven't heard the 2018 dates.

I was always partial to the mid-December schedule of NYINC at the World Trade Center. But despite that it's always a frigid week, I've now grown to like the post New Year dates in that otherwise dreary month.

    Edited to add: FUN dates:

    2017: 5-8 January (Fort Lauderdale)

    2018: 4-7 January (Tampa)
