I think I'm a coin hoarder!

It's getting worst. I just buy coins and store them in my safe never to view them again. I keep telling myself when I retire I will enjoy them more. It's not just random buying though, I do make sets, I buy raw and slabbed alike. Please telll me here are more of us out there. Fred

I've been trying to break the habit but if I attend a show I still find a nice coin I've got to have.

I'm guilty as all hell. If I like i, I buy it and it doesn't matter if I already have one.

I guess I would have to say I'm one too. I have many coins that I haven't looked at in 30 or 40 years.....

I have been a selective hoarder at times.
I used to have piles of better early and middle date walkers in F+ through AU, including multiples of dates like 16S and 21P, but have since
    dispersed most of them.
Then it was large cents - anything pre-1845 in F through AU found at a show reasonably priced came home with me.

I like to think of it as storing coins just in case there is a rare variety discovered later......

That way we have a chance of finding one in our "Collection."

Not anymore since I went through the AuAgAn program. Similar to AA

but coin related: GoldSilverAnonymous. Cured me! Took no more than

5 years of weekly meetings if I recall correctly.

Bob, I think I need that program. My poor wife if something happens to me she will be lost with what to do with them, I hate to see someone take advantage of her.

I was guilty of being a hoarder, too. For years.

Then I realized I had a few pieces I really looked at and enjoyed, and I had lots of pieces I forgot I even had.

So I adopted the Box of 20 style of collecting. Rid myself of those pieces I forgot about and concentrated on the ones I really enjoy revisiting.

When I feel like hoarding, I turn my focus to gold (or rarely silver) to boost my precious metals position.

We are like children who look at print and see a serpent in the last letter but one, and a sword in the last.

If you forget what you own, then you are more a thrill addict via the purchase than a hoarder?
