    Not sure what a pattern "Coint" is, but at that price it's a home run I'm sure!!!!

    That is an example of the rare "sideways turned" pattern dollar. Both the obverse and the reverse were turned sideways, as you can see in those images.



    It would never be accepted by the public, so that pattern design was rejected.
