Surrey Token

Received a 18th century Surry Lambeth token in the mail today from an eBay seller in Hertfordshire. The Conder token is cataloged as Surrey #18 by Dalton and Hamer and is a farthing sized advertising token for Matthew Denton - publisher and coin dealer.
What is interesting is the letter that came with the token - from Hugh to Nigel gifting the token and recommending the dealer Patrick Deane. The letter is probably from the late 1970's or early 80's as Patrick Deane registered his business in Surrey in 1976. While looking up Patrick Deane I found that the well-known English token dealer Simon Monks worked in Patrick's shop beginning in 1978.

Prince of Wales plumes? Neat. I like the irregular, quirky lettering on the reverse. Looks very much like the contemporary 18th century typeface used at the time. I'm more accustomed to seeing that on on old gravestones or newspapers of the era than on coins or tokens.

Edit- aha- I know why I got that vibe. It's because they used lowercase letters in addition to uppercase. You just don't see that too often on coins, tokens, and medals.
