I feel ashamed to say this, but I just watched "The Sandlot " for the first time tonight. There are a few more cards that are on the wall in the scene with the vision of Babe Ruth. A 63 Aaron is at the bottom ( which doesn't coincide with the film being set in 1962), the middle one is a 62 Topps that I can't determine who it is and I have no idea of the one at the top.
I was watching the "Muffin Tops" episode of Seinfeld tonight and there was a scene which had quite a few framed t205s on the wall. I could make out one being Mathewson, I am sure the experts can make out others. It is pretty well known that there was a scene on the Wonders where Kevin is trying to trade for Paul's McCovey, but they couldn't make it happen even with the Schwartz! What other instances have cards made it on the screen?
Wonder Years trading
Will you open it up to hockey cards too? I saw your post and then was flipping through the channels and stumbled onto Strange Brew? Cult classic! Bob and Doug run into Rosie La Rose at the brewery and ask him to autograph his card for him.
I have it narrowed down to a 1972 card. NHL. WHA had the logo on the left side. White jersey, circular logo, red background, team name is long enough to reach the horizontical player name stripe. Players name is long as well. I just can't figure it out. It screams Montreal but they all seem to have a green back ground. Detroit wore white but none I've found match. Could be Vancouver but the logo looks round not square. You would think OPC because it's a Canadian classic but there are fewer red backgrounds. Que up the Jeopardy theme song!

I remember this when originally posted. I looked through my sets (both 72-73 Topps and OPC hockey) several times with no luck at a match. I am pretty certain that the card is a specially made prop.

In the first season of the show Prison Break (which I highly recommend if you haven't watched) one of the inmates (tweener) is in a max security prison for grand larceny, because he tried to steal a T206 Honus Wagner. He supposedly just wanted to try to grab something and make a few bucks, and had no idea the value of the card, so they play it out as a sad story, not so bad guy in prison for a much less serious offense than the rest of the inmates. A few times he even says screw Honus Wagner, lol.

For more than a couple of reasons, I know a 1990s era Lauren Holly offering a Ted Williams rookie card as part of a kid's fantasy [?] on a TV show called Picket Fences.
The only buzz kill was the card is actually a 1992 Upper Deck Heroes insert as opposed to a card made-up to mimic the real thing.
There was a Deep Space Nine episode where Ben Sisko's son Jake(?) tries to get his dad a 1951 Bowman Willie Mays rookie card...but you can tell it's not real because the back of the card is blank!
As for Kevin, I wonder if he noticed Mark McGwire's card that predicted he'd break* Roger Maris' HR record? After all the card is #70 and 89 is the year he hit 70 HRs* in reverse!
I was watching Unsolved Mysteries last night and I had seen the Dennis Walker episode before, it features a small shop an 1951 Bowman Mantle and mays in the reenactment and it looks like they were authentic cards. The mantle was miscut and priced at $995 on the back and the mays looked ex-mt and centered on the front for $225. That was probably about right for a shop in 1988 or so. The other episode (season episode 8 i think) about Steve Cox who ran a ponzi scheme and had purchased jewlery, coins and some cards with the money. When they caught him it showed what I am pretty sure is an evidence photo of part of what was in a suitcase in his trunk. I attached a pic since I was too lazy to screen shot it. All of the first two seasons of unsolved mysteries are now on amazon prime and they had a production company do updates to the ends that cover any developments that happened over the past 25 years since it aired.
The card doesn't actually appear on the show, but in season one of Prison Break Tweener tells Michael Schofield he got sent to prison for grand larceny, he stole an Honus Wagner card from his friends dad.
It's been awhile since I watched it, but there was about a 3 episode story arc late in the first season of Better Call Saul that involved a minor character/ wannabe drug dealer that not only had his drugs and stash of cash stolen by members of another drug crew, but they also swiped his valuable baseball card collection. It was, for me anyway, laugh out loud funny, because of the conglomerate of personality tics the character exuded while trying to get his cards back. I saw characteristics of not only myself, but also of many collectors that I've known. Of course, when he finally is able to retrieve them, they are loose in a monster box, and he rifles through them like an old librarian going through the card catalog. I want to say that I recall them all being 88 Topps on camera, even though the character had continually been going on about his Ty Cobb and Hank Aaron, etc.

Just watched this movie and saw that scene! I collect Steve Garvey, Dodgers and signed cards. Collector since 1978.
Yes, the movie Mask has several scenes. "Rocky" and his friend trade cards a couple of times and there's a scene of Rocky having a fight with his mother (played by Cher) and she tears up one of his 1974 Topps Steve Garveys. He is also trying to collect a 1955/56 Dodgers team set and he needs a Rube Walker--which he's able to sneak from his friend for an extra Garvey.
In the move Stand By Me there's a scene where "Gordie" (Wil Wheaton) goes into his recently-deceased brother's room. On the wall are a '58 Topps AS Mickey Mantle and a '60 Topps Yogi Berra. Problem is the film takes place in the summer of '59.
Kurt Russell, aka Santa, produces a mint 1952 Topps Mantle card as compensation for borrowing some guy's Porsche in The Christmas Chronicles (2018), but his wife quickly proceeds to rip it up.

"Meet the Fockers". When Jack Burns thinks that Focker is the father of his housekeepers boy, the search turns up an a card of a fictional player of the boys actual father.
Someone posted a picture earlier of the Star Trek TNG with the 1962 Topps Roger Maris. Title of the episode is "The Most Toys" as in the quote "He who dies with the most toys wins"
The part of that scene I enjoyed the most is when the collector opens the Roger Maris display case and Data notices a smell in the air, and the collector tells Data that he also preserved the scent of Bubble Gum
Also not a card, but a mention in the movie Airplane, the pilot who came in to help Striker land the plane made mention that flying a plane was easier than putting Baseball cards in the plastic sleeves. Awesome movie, also showed the Air Traffic Control guys playing Atari Basketball.

"Meet the Fockers". When Jack Burns thinks that Focker is the father of his housekeepers boy, the search turns up an a card of a fictional player of the boys actual father.
You may recall the most expensive 1981 Donruss ever from Who's the Boss?
This was from the HBO Christmas movie "8 Bit Christmas."
Not the real card, but it's supposed to be the Bill Ripken FF card.
The Sandlot.. The one kid had a dream Babe Ruth appeared to him, and asked for a Hank Aaron card and the kid said take it.
Also not a card, but a mention in the movie Airplane, the pilot who came in to help Striker land the plane made mention that flying a plane was easier than putting Baseball cards in the plastic sleeves. Awesome movie, also showed the Air Traffic Control guys playing Atari Basketball.
