Pen marks on back of card

I have a 1967 Seaver rookie card that's in so-so condition, PSA 5-6-7 maybe, except for the fact it has small pen marks on the back of the card. Will PSA grade the card and how much lower of a grade will I get because of the pen marks ?

I thought it was automatically 5 grades less before condition, but not really sure

You have two options based on my experiences with this matter.
    1. Submit the card requesting No Qualifier, card will come back lower than if no request.
    2. Submit the card without requesting No Qualifier, and card comes back with a higher grade and a Qualifiter, which in this case would be MK for marked.

I do not think you can receive any numerical grade without a qualifier in this case. Also looking at the back of the the card there is no chance that it would be a PSA 7- way too much corner wear

It is.....gulp - miscut, and may not even earn a trip into a PSA holder for any grading level.

Judging from the back alone it has no chance for a 7

as above stated you can request no qualifiers and take the grade (they usually subtract 2 grades) or get the MK.

cpettimd, I stand corrected. I just got off the phone with PSA and the rep stated that the only two qualifiers that cannot be request (No Qual) are MK and MC. He said he didn't know if this was a change from years ago, but was the current policy. I had a card that had a pencil mark on it many years ago, but it could be that PSA just "missed the mark" on the card. Thanks for mentioning this!!!!

You won't avoid the MK and that's not a 7. Looks like a PSA 5MK to me, which counts as a PSA 3 for registry purposes.

The front of the card looks much better, do you think its worth grading or not ?

Looking at the front of the card, I think a 5mk would be generous.

I would grade it, but corners, tilt and centering will land it in a 5 best case, plus the MK qualifier.

    Good Luck.

    Still a nice card.

I amend my comment. Those corners make it a 4MK

I agree with Dan and would also grade this card a 4MK. It would only be a $250-$350 card in that grade.
