1972 Topps Football High Series box

Awhile back I purchased a couple of 1972 High Series Football boxes. While I have a grasp of the value on the cards themselves I have absolutely no clue on what the boxes themselves sell for??

I should point out that I'm curious about what the value of the actual box is.

BBCE lists its "Buy" price at $5500 per box, so I would estimate retail at 20% more than that, give or take. But at auction, it may bring even more. I do not think those come up for sale very often.
I am buying and trading for RC's of Wilt Chamberlain, George Mikan, Bill Russell, Oscar Robertson, Jerry West, and Bob Cousy!
Don't waste your time and fees listing on ebay before getting in touch me by PM or at gregmo32@aol.com !

BBCE sell prices are more in line with a 40 - 60% increase to their buy price depending upon the scarcity of the box. I would say you are looking at a 10k+ box.

  • I think I need to make sure we are talking about the same thing. When I say box....i mean just the box. No cards. No packs. Just the boxes.
  • Not that I wouldn't mind having a couple of empty boxes worth $5-10k. haha

This thread is starting to remind me of the Yogi Berra-Berk Ross thread from a few years agoimage (or Allen Iverson's "Practice" rantimage)

49ersguy, next time if you are talking about empty boxes you might want to just say "empty display boxes" to avoid any confusionimage

Empty display boxes unfortunately aren't discussed on here too often so whenever someone says "box" it's usually automatically inferred that it's a full box being discussed

    In clean good condition

    $250 for the box
  • It was definitely my fault for poorly wording my question Mike. Will definitely heed your advice the next time.

Thanks coins for giving an idea of what they are worth. It's much appreciated! As always the people of this forum are a fountain of information.
