Sub question

My question is on submission speed. If someone subs a lot of 50-75 cards from the same issue does it have a better chance of popping faster if it's all the same? I have a few hundred cards from 1948 leaf to 1956 Topps and wondering if breaking it up by type will improve odds of faster grading.

I can't say for sure, but in my experience my bulk subs of the same issue did tend to pop faster. For example a few months ago I sent in two similar sized subs, one containing 56-modern, and another with all 54 hockey. The hockey sub was sent a week later but popped almost a month before the other.
Indeed, my experience has been the same.
In my 8ish years of submitting to PSA... I've had lightning fast poppage with vintage when I've sent them as just one year (I collect 56 Topps) and I've also had lightning fast poppage when the sub is just vintage of various years. Either one, I've never had slow/late poppage, or even anything close to running full term for that matter.
Now, with modern, completely different story. I've had fast results and it never really mattered the make up. I've tried just sending in a number of subs that were all just from the same set/issue (usually after busting a case or two)... and if the sub wasn't one of the rare lucky fast poppage subs, they ran slow... meaning, very close to full term, if not late.
The difference in speed is night and day between vintage and modern... and from my experience and opinion, it's the #1 reason why Beckett (BGS) will continue to kick PSA's butt in terms of modern card grading. I'm a PSA loyalist and a mainly modern collector... it's been very, very, very frustrating... for years upon years now
Unless you have rather valuable vintage cards that would require high(er) service levels... I see absolutely no reason why anyone would ever not join the Collectors Club and sent their vintage cards in utilizing the monthly specials. From my experience, 9 times out of 10, even at 45 & 50 day estimated turnaround times... it's usually 20 business days or less. I think my fastest was a 45 day special submission of just 1956 Topps... popped in 3 business days!
