Are gold 2016 Mercury and SLQ part of the silver set?

I just got my gold 2016 standing liberty quarter after haveng gotten the Mercury dime a few months ago. Same size as the original. Same design except for the notation that this is a gold coin. Looks to me like it could be consider as an logical extention of the original set without much of a stretch.
The mint should now issue another SLQ with the type two design. They are alwasy looking for new ways to make money. Why not?

I bet most of the serious Mercury dime collectors bought one of the gold versions and most of the serious SLQ collectors bought one of the gold versions.
I agree
