1947-P Silver Dollar? Yep, struck in Philly, BU, big gorgeous S O L D !!!!!

The 1947 Panama 1 Balboa (KM13) was struck in at the US Mint in Philadelphia. You could draw parallels to the silver peso of the Philippines.

Except that while the US Mint struck nearly 70 million silver pesos, the three year set of the Balboa ('31, '34, and '47) saw a combined mintage of just 925,000 pieces, total.

And while the Peso is just 20 grams of .800 silver (yuck), the Balboa was actually struck on US Silver Dollar planchets. Same size, weight, and purity: 26.73 grams of .900 silver, or .7734 ounce, @ 38.1mm.
