Dak looks good in his first NFL start....

Half our D-line was on suspension and still only gave up 20.

And the best part was Dak Prescott......he will make us all forget about that Tony guy!

He looked real good and didn't do a single Romo (INT).image

Honestly I was just going to start a thread entitled "Do NOT despair Dimeman. There is a glimmer of hope."

QB looked promising for a rookie.

Elliot had a hard time getting going but Morris looked great.

D was so-so but help is on the way.

Other stuff one could criticize and it stinks to lose to the Giants but I'm looking on the bright side.

The NO pass rush really hurt us. Eli is not that great!

20 points against the Giants D? You guys have a lot of work to do.

Prescott played well in the loss but unlike Romo, he could not make the plays to pull out the win at the end. He didnt throw an INT but he didn't throw a TD, either.

    2.6 YPC for Elliott?

You're priceless Grote! Romo was a choke artest and will never get his job back.

He needs to retire before he breaks something that can't be fixed.

Please Tony retire and all us Cowboy fans a favor! PLEASE!!

Make with the Sanchez already image

Since Romo isn't playing maybe he can stand on the sidelines and tell the dumber receivers when to get out of bounds in the last minute. Seems like Dallas needs a guy to do that.image

Won't get his job back? Why would the Cowboys not place him on IR if they weren't hoping he'd be back for Week 7?

Answer: a healthy Romo gives the Cowboys the best opportunity to win. Any knowledgeable football fan, especially a Cowboys fan, ought to know that, lol..

But don't despair, they're only 0-1 and maybe next week Prescott will finally get that first TD and improve on that impressive QB rating of 62. image

Like I said earlier load the box and make Prescott beat you. He couldn't and they were awful in red zone and the running game a non factor.

How many TD passes did Prescott have again? Missed that part

Mark - give the guy credit. He played great in his first NFL game. If you want to blame anyone for the loss it would have to be Williams for not going out of bounds.

I think the future looks good for the Cowboys with Prescott at QB.

Real answer - Jones is a idiot and never should have signed Romo to his current contract.

Romo has proven time after time he can't win when he has to. He has had good teams and choked in the playoffs. He is old and breaks easy and needs to retire before he really gets messed up.

I have a bit of a different take. I'm not one for moral victories, but I think the Cowboys can take solace.

If someone had told you prior to yesterday's game that the Cowboys would average 3.4 on the ground, Dak would chuck the pigskin 45 times and Dez's line would read one for eight, what would your prediction have been? I probably would have said the G-Men by 3 touches.

Instead, the Boys were a Terrance Williams brain fart away from giving the league's best kicker an opportunity to unload from 60+ to walk away 1-0. All things considered, not bad.

If I'm a DC fan, today I'm beyond pissed at.............the o-line. Those road-graders are presumably the best the NFL has to offer, yet they got punked at the line of scrimmage by a group that wanted it more. Knowing full well who was behind them, each and every one of them should have been regularly coming off the ball like the guy staring him in the face said something about their mother. You know, to alleviate pressure from the shoulders of a guy who has never done this before?

    But I didn't see it.

As a result, they routinely left Dak in precarious spots -- 2nd and (especially) 3rd and long. Who here thinks that's a recipe for success with a rook signal caller at the helm? The fact he didn't turn the ball over a single time after that many attempts is a minor miracle.

The outcome shouldn't be a surprise, but the margin should. Would love to see the DC bigs part the Red Sea next week, then we can give Dak (and Zeke) a proper assessment.

Not blaming Prescott in the least. He maybe an average QB one day.

For the record only one other QB in the NFL had a worse day then Prescott did yesterday. Look it up.

I think your expectations are too low and your hatred for Romo blinds your judgement.

100% accurate, especially the last sentence. I thought DM had finally seen the light after the 2014 season, but I guess his memory isn't that great. The Cowboys are 4-12 without Romo. Book it. His impact is that significance, when healthy, at least, which has been his biggest obstacle in recent years. Jones does him no favors rushing him back prematurely, either. Last season was an abomination.

I didn't forget the 2014 season at all....it was just like the other playoff years.... especially 2007.....HE DIDN'T GET THE JOB DONE.....HE NEVER WILL!!!!

I don't hate Romo.....I just want him to go away and quit hanging on trying to do something he can't do.

And Prescott is already better than average. Give him a chance. He only has 1 game under his belt. Romo has had 14 years and.....NADA!image

Like I said your expectations are low. About as low as Prescott's QB rating

The good news? You will have another high draft pick next year with him at the helm.

No one on the active Dallas roster is going to get "the job done" anytime soon, DM. You'll see what I mean within the next few weeks, when the losses start piling up..

You may be right......only time will tell.

But the loss to the Giants was very winnable.....if Williams had gone out of bounds instead of trying for extra yards.

I will give Prescott the BOD until he starts pulling Romo's!image

And please don't forget to send a thank you card to the cerebral challenged Redskins QB. My phone is blowing up with texts from from my Skins friends

I have no problem admitting thus kid has far exceeded my expectations. I also now believe Dallas should stick with him going forward, too. If it's not broke, don't fix it!

With this win over their bitter arch rival Phil. (since 1960) Tony Romo getting his job back anytime soon is remote, barring an injury to Dak. They have built off their win over GB and didn't fall flat.

A great win for the Boys indeed. Dak looked a little shaky there for a while, but sucked it up and pulled off the win.

    LOVE BEATING THE EAGLES!!!

Impressive divisional win. Cowboys are firing on all cylinders, now. They can ill afford an Elliott suspension, though. Remains to be sen how that plays out.
