$5 Confederate Note - Need Help

A friend of a friend owns this note, he would like to know its value. The is a 1/4" tear on the left side next to the letter V and the white spot in the portrait is a hole in the note. Any help identifying the note and providing a value would be greatly appreciated. Is it a counterfeit?

    Picture?
  • 1864 looks like cat T-69 which is pretty common and worth $15-20 bucks. Not a counterfeit, they usually have damage in that well circulated condition as the paper is not that robust.
  • Thank you for the information, truly appreciated.
