My super late National Experience (pics added)

The only time I ever went to the National was in Chicago years ago as a dealer. My buddy, who was the true dealer at the time, allowed me to share part of his table so I could sell my items. It was a great experience. The thing I remember most was just talking to people who approached the table so they could share their tales about why collecting mattered to them. It was awesome.
Fast forward 15 or so years, and while my collecting itch is still alive and well, I have never been back to a National. I wanted to go this year, but my career didn't provide the opportunity. I did the next best thing - used social media and lots of texting. I still felt like I was part of the experience and the overall vibe. It was very exciting! Special thanks to Steve Hart at BBCE.
Before I post my pickups, I want to make it clear how humbling it is to deal with such amazing people in this industry. Couldn't be more fortunate to interact with true professionals. On a side note, my collecting has really taken off the last few years due to some fortunate circumstances. Without getting into too much detail, I have been very lucky with some business ventures and my career. I know it can all be taken away in a flash. Five years ago, I didn't have any extra funds to collect and was just happy to have a roof over my head. Now, I try to collect as much as I can and go all out. In the infamous words of Apollo Creed, "There is no tomorrow!" At heart, I am still that 16 year old kid in the local card shop hounding the shop owner for all of his Jordans! I hope you enjoy the pickups, even with my crappy photos. I had a few more, but they came out terrible. I'll add some more tomorrow.
1) 1984-85 Star Complete Original Bag Set with Jordan #101 BGS 8.5
I picked up the Jordan right before the entire set, so I am including them together. The first Jordan Star card I ever owned was the Olympic card. Out of all of the purchases, this one is my favorite.
2) 1985 Star Court King Oversized Set - 50 Cards - All Autographed
I didn't plan on picking this set up, but I just had to have it. Gorgeous in every way.
3) 1986-87 Fleer -132 cards plus 11 stickers and 7 checklists autographed - all PSA/DNA - All Blue Sharpie
One of my bucket list items, along with a 1986 Fleer PSA 10 set (working on it) and a top notch provenance Game Used Jordan Jersey (always get outbid). One cool thing about this set is the previous owner had various HOFs each sign a checklist, such as Mullin on one, Ewing on another, Wilkins, Barkley, etc.

The biggest lesson I've learned in this hobby, and in life, is that if you have a strong conviction, you owe it to yourself to see it through. Don't sell yourself, or your investments, short. Unless the facts change. Then sell it all.

PSA won't grade the STAR cards, right?
Great pics, great report.
PSA won't grade the STAR cards, right?
Thanks. My understanding is PSA will authenticate the autograph as being on a "trading card", but PSA will not grade the card itself. You are correct.

Congratulations.
Is that the 86F auto set that BBCEx had at the National?
Please post the Jordan card if you can? Thanx.
George Brett, Roger Clemens and Tommy Brady.
That 1986 Fleer set is just amazing. Also, want to say I am happy your hard work paid off. Enjoy it.
Have you seen The Creed movie?
I would like to see the Jordan's also.
Congrats!

Liquidating my collection for the 3rd and final time. Time for others to enjoy what I have enjoyed over the last several decades. Money could be put to better use.

Yes you can get a blue flip authentication for the Star autos but not a red flip grade. I actually have the 1985 star slam dunk set minus Jordan autographed.

1) Yes, this was purchased from BBCE. Steve was a pleasure to deal with. The biggest issue was that Steve had so many great items - a complete 87 Fleer Auto PSA Set, a complete 88 Fleer Auto PSA Set, a gorgeous 86 Fleer box and tons more. it was almost too much to process lol
2) Yes, I saw the new Creed and was pleasantly surprised. They can keep the franchise going for years to come.
3) The Star set was purchased without the Bulls bag, but I purchased the BGS Jordan and the bag w/cards it was pulled from shortly before. Maybe a small stretch calling it a National pickup, but it made the set.
