Help on 74 Topps baseball was box

Looking to pick up a bbce box of 74's in the future. I have heard the 15 cent version is more rare than the 10 cent....is that correct? Are the number of cards per pack different I assume. Any clarification is appreciated!

Wherever you "heard" this info, you may want to go back and question the source. The Topps box variations you're asking about are from the year 1976.

The 1974 Topps Baseball wax box was distributed with 36 8-card packs. I think there was a pack variation which included a checklist.

    1974 had 15 cent version.

More rare and had 10 cards per pack

I think only 24 in the box

15c packs contain 12 cards per pack (plus team checklist)

10c packs contain 8 cards (with or without team checklist depending on wrapper variation)

For 1976, 10c packs contained 7 cards while 15c packs contained 10 cards.

Thx to all.... If the 15 cent versions only had 24 packs then the 10 cent versus has more cards but the box should sell for less since it is not as rare as the 15 cent. Is that what I am concluding here?

Both boxes have 288 cards (not including checklists).

BBCE has a $0.15 pack listed as 10 cards on their site.

Yes, but card count for 15c packs was 12. I have a dealer sheet which indicates card count and will post it here later tonight.

Once again the guru comes through. I think Tim is a time traveler from the 70's with all of this info! Great stuff.
