Now in his 5th full season in the big leagues... Just turned 25 last week... Arguably the best player in MLB today!

My primary focus is on collecting his Basic & Collector Issues set in its fullest form. With that said, I'm constantly researching his cards on Beckett to see what new cards have hit the hobby, and which I'll need to find for my collection. In searching today, I started with a basic "Mike Trout" player search, only to realize that right now, Beckett lists exactly 4400 Mike Trout cards in their database. I tip my cap to anyone that would take a serious run at his Master Set. God willing, he could have a long career and have what... 20,000? 25,000? 30,000... different cards before he calls it a career?

I just figured it was about time to start an "official" thread to discuss all things Mike Trout card related. Share what you collect! Discuss what sets you're working on! Engage with fellow Trout collectors... maybe even make some deals along the way and keeping building that collection!

Pictures are always great... and welcome! I haven't picked up anything I'd consider exceptional recently, so I'll start this thread off with a shot of my favorite Rookie Trio of Trout cards in my collection...

    Eric, awesome cards! I don't have any projects involving cards from the last 20 years, but if I were to delve into the ultra modern, I can't imagine a better subject than Trout

    I am working on a rc set. Basic set, Basic Topps, and also adding Heritage on the side. I am doing them only in Psa 10. Most of mine are self sub so it is slow going. I have a few to send off next decent special. Hopefully I will be able to add a few more 10s.
    I started this project about a year ago. This is what I have added so far

    Cool to see my name in print when its about something I'm passionate about collecting! I was pretty pumped when I saw the article in my SMR this month!

    On a side note... anyone have a fresh copy of the SMR to part with? Unfortunately, when I opened mine, a bunch of pages fell out that were glued to/near the big ad pages in the magazine. If anyone has one that doesn't have that problem... I'd be interested in buying it off you!

    I should have one still in the wrapper. I have 2 of it since I renewed this month. I will check when I get home from my current road trip

    Got another card in the mail today that will one day soon find its way into a PSA holder...

    Sad story... I finally got around to buying this card as a replacement. After inspecting it, I'm guessing it'll be a PSA 9 with a reasonable shot at a 10. Back in late 2013/early 2014, I picked one up that was a sure fire 10... absolutely perfect. I took it to be subbed in-person at the Chicago Sun Times show in March, 2014. While at the PSA booth, I was transferring the card from a top loader to a CardSaver 4... and the card slid right out of the top loader, faster than I expected, and crashed to the concrete floor in front of the table. Smashed corner. The PSA rep said, "Ouch, do you still want to submit that?"... and just shrugged my shoulders and said "yes, I need it for my registry set"... Oh, the power of the Registry. It sits in my set today as a PSA 6.

    Here's to hoping this one proves a very positive upgrade!!!

    That story is nuts, sounds like something I would do (except with a much cheaper card). Hopefully you got your SMR in ok.

    So far this week I've gotten poppage on 2 submissions containing some new Trout's for my collection. All of these will be new additions to the ever growing Basic & Collector Issues set, well, except for the Diamond Kings which someone beat me to and it was already added as a new slot to the set earlier this week!

    I was expecting the 9 on the 2014 Father's Day... tough to find in gem shape... it's now a Pop 1 with no 10's given out yet!

    I'm super pumped about the Topps Marketside card getting a 10. That's just an impossible card. Over the past few months, I've probably starred at the scans of 100+ on eBay and actually pulled the trigger on about a dozen of them. Most were not worth grading... I sent in my 2 best (the other one got an 8). Kinda tough to find in 10 quality when they were found in loose cellophane packs packaged in with a frozen pizza at Walmart!

    I've got one more sub that still might pop this week... it's estimated due date is this coming Monday (19th)... with several more Trout cards in it!!!

    I commend you for taking on a project this size. He will have tens of thousands of cards when it's all said and done

    Mike Trout-terrible for my bank account but great for my husband's Trout Master set. I can't figure out the digital album though--#3 set in the Registry and wish I could get the photos up. Can't compete with an investment banker though, content with a set which is a notch below Not Good Enough

    Finally figured out the digital album.. My husband didn't have any of the 2009-10 cards, and I didn't realize that it only recognizes cards which have photos, and I hadn't taken any of his early cards. Cool option.
