My 2016 NSCC Recap

The year 2016 sure has been an interesting one, both in and outside of the hobby. Without getting into it, i'll just say that
my hobby budget has taken the brunt of the blow. That's the way it goes sometimes, and things could always be worse,
or so they say.

Due to "Real Life" getting in the way, i was able to attend this years show on Saturday and Sunday only. Missed quite a
few people i consider to be good friends. I hope I get to see them next year.

There are so many people i'd like to thank for so many memories this year, but i am going to give a blanket thank you to
everyone, as nobody deserves to be accidentally left out. You all know know who you are and how special you all are to me.

Ok, onto the show itself..... The show floor was seemingly LARGER then it has been for the other venues. The crowds,
well, they seemed to be there, but there was also a lot of space, so it was hard to judge really. There was never a time
that i felt the isles were "jammed", as i normally do on the Saturday. Sunday was, well, it was vacant pretty much from
the get-go. Sundays at the show are usually slower, with many people (and friends) heading back to their "real lives"
either that morning, or the night prior. This year though, just seemed like more dealers were "outta there!" after Saturday

For the first time, my #Focus going into the show was to see all my friends, old and new alike. There weren't any cards
on my MUST HAVE list. if i saw something, fantastic, if not, no worries. Turns out that there was very little there that
caught my eye (in the lower price bracket, anyway image

Earlier in the week, a good friend of mine was able to submit my PSA order, so i would be able to pick it up when i got there.
i did very well with it and am extremely happy to add them to my collection.

Unfortunately for the first time, i had BGS True Gems NOT cross over to PSA 10's. Bummed about it, but what can ya do?
Was able to get two of the four crossed over though....

I was given some amazing gifts during the show! image

Here is what i wound up picking up at the show

The Threads Blaster was $7 on Sunday! LOL

So, there you have it, My 2016 Show in a brief rundown. Sure i would have liked to find more stuff, but it is what it is....

Nice cards Eric ...and good recap. My National was much like yours ... I went down to meet the people I have been "speaking" with on the boards for many years but never met ... and to say hi to the few I already knew. Picked up only a few low graded cards ... 4 T-206s and the final card I needed to complete my '64 Stand Ups set ... Frank Robby.

Thanks for the write-up. Every time I think about going to the national, I think about the costs involved and decide to forgo the trip as I could use that travel money to buy more cards.

Eric.... Another nice write up. I also had a perfect gem BGS not cross in my last sub to PSA. It's a political game with them because they can't cross over ever 4x 9.5. I'm 3/4 this year in that department don't feel bad.

Eric, great job on your sub. You know I love your pickups, both of them. Good luck on your rip. Should be some nice, cheap fun. Your gifts were pretty spectacular. The Gooden gem and Seaver card are awesome and I always like the Archives Jordan with the 84 design.
