Selling cards with COMC

I am considering sending a bunch of raw cards to COMC, many which are worth less than $5.

in terms of comc assigning grades to the listing, can anyone tell me the difference between using the 25-cent, 50-cent and 1-dollar service levels?

i am considering using the 25-cent service level, but it is unclear whether these will be assigned a grade. when searching the site, i often find that raw cards are put into 1 of 2 categories: raw (with no grade assigned) or graded (with grade assigned).

i read that if you use the 50-cent service level that cards will be assigned one of 3 different grades (pr-fr/vg-ex/nm-mt). is this correct? and if so, does it mean that all cards sent at the 25-cent level just receive the "raw" designation?

any help would be much appreciated.

Why? Lots of varying cards by sport/year worth a few dollars a piece that I have very little time to advertise/put the work in to sell. If not COMC, then who/what?

Do you want them to show the grade or just be in the raw label? They have became extremely picky over the last 6 months and have been declining cards for the tiniest of flaws. If you use the Basic Service, it could get rejected. If you use the Select Service, it costs twice as much, but will be put into what they deem the correct bucket.

You can get tons of information on COMC and submission questions at the BO forums under the Ebay/COMC section.

Any other COMC vets, feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

    Good luck!

I love COMC....and I applaud them for becoming more diligent about card conditions.

But it's pretty annoying when one of my cards is rejected for a slight corner ding, yet there are several complete beaters of the same card on the site for sale.

Oh well, I guess they had to start somewhere.

I spoke with them briefly at the National. From what I understand, the .25, .50, and such per card is for the length of time you want them listed. The 0.25 level is the standard 8 week time, whereas the 0.50 level may be about 2 weeks.

Another thing to think about is that if you want your cards back at any time, it will cost you 0.25 per card to have them picked and returned to you. So, you should send them cards that will sell and not just sit there.

Also, when you have sales, it is a credit for purchases at COMC and if you want to cash out your balance, it will be a charge of 20%.

They want post 1980 cards to be nrmt-mt and they will assign grades prior to 1980.

    Good Luck,

    Robert

I have not sold on COMC but I am a happy customer. I think it is worth sending a small stack in to test the waters and see if it will be a good avenue for you to unload cards. Like you, and many others, I just don't have the time to list, pack, and print a label for each card I sell. Best of luck and keep us posted if you decide to use their services.
