There must be 10-30 investors interested in a card like that

George Brett, Roger Clemens and Tommy Brady.

One of the few cards that will give the 52 Mantle a run for it's money in equal grade.

    1. HOLY $&#%!!!

    2. How is this lot #504 and not lot #1 or #2? Should be a fun one to watch.

I really enjoy that Mylar sleeve as it brings out the best in this valuable card.
Someday when PSA makes it big they will figure out someway around it but for now
    just enjoy it.

Apparently, you can put lipstick on a pig.

Great card even with the crude color processing. Much better than some of the 20's strip cards. Kinda reminds me of 51 Parkhurst.

The biggest lesson I've learned in this hobby, and in life, is that if you have a strong conviction, you owe it to yourself to see it through. Don't sell yourself, or your investments, short. Unless the facts change. Then sell it all.

I think this card goes 4 figures easy. lol

With so many investors with endlessly deep pockets currently in this market and fighting it out for that card, it should be fun to watch.

Is that one of the must haves in the hobby? I've never seen it before. Im mostly more current cards. Looks nice but personally think the mylar sleeve takes away from it. Although Ive never seen one in person.

One of my favorite cards in the hobby. Love the cool pose, and the fact that it's a Pre War icon's pure rookie card; in contrast so many of the PreWar greats have many cards that can stake a claim to rookie card status. Rare too, with probably closer to 130 across all grades in SGC and PSA combined, factoring crossovers. Plus there's always something about a card that's lived through all that time, envisioning when it was pulled, and its journey. Of course Shoeless was one of the best hitters of all time, a major influence on Babe Ruth, who credited Shoeless as an inspiration. Then there is his legacy, tragic story, mystique. It all comes together beautifully in that baseball card.

Anytime. Here's a great quote from Babe Ruth re: Shoeless...

"I copied Jackson's style because I thought he was the greatest hitter I had ever seen, the greatest natural hitter I ever saw. He's the guy who made me a hitter." - Babe Ruth

I get that it's an iconic card but...hoo boy is it ugly. Just an aesthetically all-around terrible card, IMHO.
