Beautiful set Brent! Even better with your uncle's cards in there. Thanks for all the time spent telling us about the journey and scanning the entire set.

I love binder sets. Great story. What's the next set?
Thanks! Here are my next 5 sets as far as completion percentages. So close with my 60 and 64 sets. Working hard on those sets - Less than 100 cards between the 2 sets, then I am done with them!
I'm leaning towards starting a raw '69 set next. I just finished my '68 baseball and an '86 Fleer Basketball set. I'm also toying with the idea of a 1952 baseball set in low grade.

A 69 set would be cool. I have a 50s set that I am putting together in the background as well (1953). I'm filling it with any condition cards. i just want the front of the cards to be mostly there. I don't care if there are wrinkles or creases, or anything. It will make me think that I have collected a binder full of fully loved cards...some that spent summers in bicycle spokes, or traded around among friends, or thrown out and later found. I have some that are in EX condition too, but I really don't care. I just want to enjoy the cards.
If you are starting a 69 set, I have a ton of dupes and can pick out NM or higher cards for you!
Thanks Mike - Appreciate the words! Definitely a labor of love. Made a ton of progress in the last year, but I'm betting my progress will now slow down because of the high numbers and some of the heavy hitting cards left. Regardless, loving the journey! I'm guessing I will be done in 3 more years, maybe 4?

I keep looking for a nice nmmt lot of 300-400 cards to get the ball rolling. How many do you think you have?
I wish I could help you out with a lot like that. I would have to look at what I have, but I probably would be good to help you with cards here and there, maybe 30-50 that would meet your higher grade requirements? It also depends on what you like most with NMMT cards....centering, corners/edges, registration...
Like your Uncle I only collected one year and that was 1970. I still have my well worn and much played with cards in the original shoe box I've stored them in since the 1970's.
I'm close to finishing my 5th raw set of 1970. I like the fact you've kept the lower grade cards. Great story.

That is awesome and the 70 set is really a great set, even though people are bored with the design. It is not as flashy, but with the gray borders, it is iconic in my mind. Plus with no HOF RCs in the set, I think it lacks the attention that some of the other sets get. Even the Munson RC is less sought after than his 71 issue. Really looking forward to the Heritage release in 2 years. I will get a case that year! I'll be able to experience what it was like to rip 70s packs and make that connection with my uncle even better.

Love your collection but most of all admire your passion and enjoyment of collecting. That's what it's all about. Congrats. Doug
Thanks Doug, I appreciate it and it is definitely a passion.

Nicely done! Always love to see a nice 1970 set completed. Did you get the 6 checklist variations too?
Dave
Thanks! Not yet - For now, I am just completing sets, and then going back to do all variations (both back and front variations in the applicable sets)

"Molon Labe"
Here are some pickups for over the last year.
Picked some great cards from a fellow board member (yankeeno7), who was gracious enough to connect me with a number of cards for all my 60s sets.
Then picked this up from another CU member...
Then picked these up from LahMeJoon...
Then picked some great cards up from Nathan...
Then some great cards from Greg Morris...
Then some more Greg Morris cards (along with some 64s)
Then more Greg Morris cards...
Then picked some from Tom from OPC
Some random pickups (with some more 64s)
Then went back to Greg Morris for some more...
A Clemente and Frank picked up from a CU member...(with a filler Brooksie 64)
More Greg Morris...
Got these from Batterbox...
Then a VG Bench
Then my final pickup was this VG Ryan I got on a snipe. I'll upgrade at some point, but love it for now!

Hiya Brent
Congratulations again for another good set.
Some consider it a boring design? I like it.
Again, you've put a lot of effort into your reporting which I immensely appreciate.
We could use more of these types of threads.
I'm not a set collector and really admire those with the patience and fortitude to stay "in the hunt" - job well done buddy.

Gotcha. I appreciate it. I'll let you know what I end up going with. Keep us updated on your remaining sets.
