Barber Coins - ANA & Internet Auctions - Costs, Images & Prices Realized

I have about a dozen nice Barber coins being auctioned at Heritage during the
ANA Anaheim Convention - I was told tonight that the lots are now open for bidding.

In the next few days, I'll post images - mine as well as Heritages - so - you'll get a
good feel for what is being sold. The coins are being sold at no reserve. Edit: adding
Lot Numbers as I receive them. No Internet only auction numbers provided as yet.

To start off, I'll just post the coins - and will come back later with images.
All the coins are PCGS Graded.

Great Barber material Mike, I look forward to your pics. Wow!

Heritage doesn't seems to have many images up yet. The suspense is killing me!

Good luck my friend ... should be interesting.

    Mike,

I'm anxious to see the 98-P half in AU 50. I need only 6 coins to complete the set in XF-AU, including the 98-P. If you have any photos at present please send them. Best wishes with the auction.

Waiting for the Internet Only sale's images to get posted.
I would guess they'll get posted after the ANA sales are over.

The professional images that I posted are right on the money.
The colors are not juiced at all. That 1898 Phila Half Dollar really
    is that colorful.

So far, only one coin has sold - and its at a major loss....
1903-O Quarter in PCGS 64+ CAC - bought out of a Legend 1/2016
Las Vegas auction for $2475 all in - just sold for $900 plus juice.

I also tweeked one image of mine as I listed an 1898 Dime that I am
keeping - and reposted the one I am actually selling.

Just another image in the night....

Bump - the auction for the lesser priced Barbers is coming very soon.
I have yet to see how they are breaking up my consignment between
Sunday, August 28th and Tuesday, August 30th.

I hope all of you find a few things you can use in your collection as these
Barbers I am selling were chosen with great care. I love the series and
have continued to add to my own collection and have tried to upgrade
any coin with one who has a superior look. A few of the coins I am selling
are actually a higher grade than the ones I am keeping in my collection.

I would like to pay close attention to the 1904-S Dime I'm selling - PCGS 55
as it's probably one of the nicest toned 04-S's available. My newest 04-S is
an AU 58+ and is a close match to the 55 on the block. As a matter of fact,
the 55 is actually more attractive than the 58+.

Thanks for looking...if you have any questions, please feel free to PM me.

    Good luck with your bids.

Well, if anyone is looking for bargains - my coins have fit the bill.
I was once again, trounced and only regained 65% of my money.

This evening is part two of the Internet Only Tuesday auction (8/30/16).

These Dimes are going on the block tonight:

    1898 Phila PCGS 63 CAC - I paid $295 - but my guess it'll sell in the $170 range. $180
    1902-S PCGS 55 - CAC - I paid $319 - but my guess it'll close at $225 +/- range.$188

    Quarters selling tonight:

    1894 Phila PCGS 55 - CAC - I paid $165 - it should sell in the $130 range $180
    1896 Phila PCGS 62 - I paid $340 - I hope it clears $280.... $280
    1899-S PCGS 53 - I paid $380 - I hope it clears $300....$370
    1902-O PCGS 55 - I paid $355 - I hope it clears $290... $190
    1906-O PCGS 55 CAC - I paid $575 ( yup, I'm certifiable ) - I hope it clears $380...$380
    1907-S PCGS 25 - I paid $150 for this - I'm hoping it clears $130... $ FIFTY FIVE
    1907-S PCGS UNC Details - I paid $325 for this - I hope I clear $280 out of it. $220
    1908-D PCGS 62 - I paid $335 for this - I hope to clear $280....$221

    Halves selling tonight:

    1895- Phila - PCGS 50 - I paid $386 and I think it'll easily clear $325 $300
    1898- Phila - PCGS 50 - I paid $479 - I think it should clear $375 $ $280
    1899- Phila - PCGS 45 - CAC - I paid $405 - and it should clear $350+ $190
    1900- Phila - PCGS 45 - CAC - I paid $315 - and I see it closing close to $300... $170 !!!!!
    1905-O PCGS AU DETAILS ( IMHO ) - Purchased raw for $500 - estimate: $275 ?? sold at $180
    1908-D PCGS 53 - I paid $405 for this - I think it'll close close to $350 plus juice $240

    Well, that's a wrap.

    Good luck with your bids.

I'll recap everything later on after the close of tonight's auction.
Let's see, I've taken two or three baths already with this consignment ...
Guess it only stands to reason, I'm about to take another.

Well, that's what I call a good slap across the face ....

I already have my bids in for 2 of the above. One for more than you are expecting and one for less. Good luck!

    Joe.

Edit: Interesting result. I won the lot with the bid (at my max) for the one for less than you were expecting but I was the underbidder for the lot where my bid was for more than you were expecting.

    Joe.

I would like to thank all who either bid or just tracked this auction.
I heard from a number of old friends, some bid successfully, others
    we're out bid.

At least in the auction venue, you all had a chance to pick up a couple
of coins before they were stepped on by retailers ! There were lots of
    bargains to be had.

    Thanks again !!
