Very rare note from Romania (occupation of Transdnistria). I know that the guys in PCGS needed to put extra effort in research and they did it right.

I love monster margin notes. I saw this one come up on ebay a couple of years ago and luckily was able to convince Angie from UC to quickly end it and sell it to me before anyone placed a bid! $5 1953B SC's typically have narrow top and bottom margins so this was an anomaly. The left and right margins are extra big too.

I love that huge brown spiked seal! Why can't this type of a large intricately designed seal be incorporated as a "security feature" on modern currency?

A coin shop pick up that I had graded a while back. I was so excited to get a Q on a Burke Glass signature! There is embossing visible and the note looks nicer in hand than pictured. image

Glad you like the ladder set.

Dan's matched set is better, but this is down the same lines at least and on twos. What makes his notes and these special is that they were pieced together and not sold as a BEP item, or even in low serials where they were plucked out of bricks. If you think about it, matching higher number serials in the same series is really tough.
