    Neat! The 1849 medal looks older- that obverse has an 18th century sort of appearance to it.

    I suspect that the Eckernforde victory medal was a quickie, meant to take advantage of the public enthusiasm amongst the German oriented citizenry. Note that there is a small hole drilled into the rim at 12:00, probably for mounting.
