I was contacted about a Jordan rookie for sale but the "SGC holder has a small crack on the bottom from when it was dropped"... Do you think it's possible a fake was inserted somehow? Just curious as this would be a sale through PayPal.

Thank guys!

    Oh man!

Lets see the front as well.

I mean the SGC black insert looks like a tall boy card or something.

Never have I seen a real High dollar card with this much space.

I would run just with the pic you showed and I have no clue if it is real or not at this point.

No. Absolutely not good. If you can't detect a scam just by looking at this, then you've got some more learning to do.
  • Hence why I am asking, to learn these things. Thank you for the input on the card.

    Hiya Nate

What's the grade and how much are they asking.

All kinds of buzzers are going off in my head.

    Call me Mr Incredulity.

If I cracked a holder and didn't damage the card? I'd be sending it back to be reholdered.

And what's with all that space T/B? Their gaskets always fit snug.

Stay away. I cracked out a few cards from SGC slabs last month and I was able to pry them open simply by flexing them a little and the two pieces popped apart. Kinda scary how easy it was.

    I concur.

I bought a Snider SGC from a dealer friend - it separated with ease - it just doesn't seem to sonically seal like PSA holders?

Neither could I. I figured it was just a bad slab, but the other two opened up just as easily.

Take a look at SGC Jordans on eBay. NONE of them have as much space on top or bottom.

  • I did after someone above pointed that out. SO blatant. Thanks for the help!

Many of these threads make me shake my head. Someone else about 25 of a rare auto, this card. Guys does a possible good deal make you lose common sense? Walks like a duck, talks like a duck, well you know.

Is there not severe frosting on the bottom of the slab also?
