Sold Rex Ryan a 1965 Topps Hank Aaron at the local card show today.

Thought you guys would like to know he is a collector of vintage baseball. He asked how much I wanted for a PSA 6 1965 Topps Hank Aaron And I told him the Rex Ryan price was $40 and a picture. He laughed and scooped it up with a quickness. He was a cool guy. He bought sorting trays, cases of top loads and set boxes so he seemed to be a true collector.

Thought you might find that interesting. Hope you all have a great weekend.

The show was in Nashville, TN.

That's cool. Did he mention what he collects or how long he has been at it?

George Brett, Roger Clemens and Tommy Brady.

  • Every time I look at this guy I can't help but think of that ridiculous video he made a few years back where he goes on about his wife's "stinky and smelly" feet. *GAG!*

I live in SC but was in Nashville on Thursday and visited Cards-R-Fun and when I pulled up a guy was leaving and I waited for him to get in his car and back out and pulled into the parking space he was in. Didn't realize it was Rex Ryan until the owner told me I had just missed him. He said Rex had just moved to Nashville. I told him his son was at Clemson which is about 30 miles from where I live. It really is a small world.

    Great story and pic!!

So what would've been the non Rex Ryan price?!?! Or the Bill Belichick price?!?!image

If he's only buying 6's I guess he's not one of the guys involved in the cardzi scheme and running up prices or one of the 10-30 guys Brent was referring toimage

The 1985 Bears 30/30 film was pretty much a tribute to Buddy in some ways. That is one of my favorite teams from my youth.

Thanks for sharing Nathan. Instead of giving him a 40% discount, I would have charged him 40% more! lol

Was the the Lighthouse Christian show? If so, how many tables are setting up now. Last time I went was a couple of months ago and found that the majority of cards were either overpriced modern or overgraded vintage.

It is a show that has about 40-50 tables monthly but every three months or so he does a show in the big gym and has Beckett accept submissions or an autograph signer. Last month was Derrick Henry and Brad Hopkins

The show has 110-125 tables at that quarterly show.

Pretty much every defensive coach ever coaches defense better than Rex's brother.

There was s feature story not long ago in which Rex talked about his life-long fondness for APBA baseball so being a baseball card collector would fit right in with that. Former Packers GM Ron Wolf is also a collector--vintage football, of course.
