Has the buying frenzy pushed the 52 Mantle higher? Since it is viewed as "the cornerstone" of the hobby would think as these others advance in price, the 52 price has to keep advancing ahead of the pack.

I was thinking the same thing. In particular, the 53T Mays, Rose, and Ryan seem to be pretty low estimates. In the current buying frenzy with so many new collectors with endless cash in the markets, they could drive those Pop 1's over a million each

It's refreshing and exciting to see included what is truly one of the most important basketball cards of all time being shown in the ad. The only PSA GEM MINT 10 Alcindor RC. The future owner of this card can claim something no Jordan card could ever be. The seller/soon-to-be former owner of the card must be wetting his pants with anticipation. Or more likely checking the net for new yachts.
It's unrefreshing and unexciting to see a card like this deemed to be the best of the best. Call me deranged, but I actually think aesthetics should play an increasingly significant role when you attempt to determine whether or not to anoint such an iconic card. And before anyone whips out a parameters pitchfork, I have a self-professed theory about that. If the defense of any dime includes "technically it's within...," that's really all you need to know.
I just think somewhere along the line we lost our way. Lest anyone forgets, an imperceptible quarter-inch spider wrinkle will single-handedly drag a card toward the nadir.
