What are your largest graded complete sets

My complete 1971 Topps Greatest Moments set is only 55 cards but weighs about 13 1/2 pounds.

Can't imagine the size and weight of, say, the 1971 Topps set (752 cards) with each card encapsulated.

Just completed this set this past week. One of hopefully many. Excuse me for not knowing how to link it up on here anymore. Thanks for looking. Not too heavy, but need to find a nice storage box to house them. I hate the fact they are just sitting in a stack in my office.

Daniel-- I don't do graded cards but your post makes me want to get one of my Topps Total baseball sets (990 cards) graded just to see how much it would weigh image

The largest and therefore heaviest sets i have are the 58 topps baseball set in psa 7 and 8 which is 494 cards; also about 30 cards shy of the 59 set also in 7 and 8 which is 572 cards.

Never really have given much thought to the combined weight of the holders except when I carry them all around the block once a month so they can get some fresh air but now you have me thinking; I suppose I can take 10 or 20 holders and step on the scale (after I first weigh myself sans holders)(but with clothes onimage) then do a little subtracting and then a little multiplying to figure out how much 500 cards would weigh.

1 graded 2 1/2 X 3 1/2 card weighs 1.6 ounces. Multiply 1.6 by the amount of cards in your set, then divide that number by 16, and there is your total weight in pounds.

Some quick math tells me that every one hundred 2 1/2 X 3 1/2 graded cards weighs about 10 pounds.

    To add to the fun.

If one is doing a "pre" 1957 set - the holders weight 1 3/4 ounces.

So, if you were to holder a basic 52T set of 407 cards? You got 44.5 pounds of acrylic.

Mike--With red backs, black backs, grey backs and assorted variations 507 would be light image

On the other hand my Topps Total sets would apparently weigh in at 98 pounds

A fully loaded card vault model 800 case with about 759 slabbed cards weighs about 95 pounds. That makes the slabbed card weight around 70 pounds

Remember Davilillo aka Jim C. had over 100 PSA sets - just imagine what "that" weighed?

I finished a 1960 Topps football set, all in PSA 8 several years ago. Unfortunately had to sell to help pay for children's college.

I at one point completed a graded 1971 Topps set but sold it off almost seven years ago. One of the reasons I sold it was because it took up so much room. Since that time, I have shifted my focus more towards just keeping star graded cards. However, the slab set bug is still there as I have a complete 1978 Donruss KISS set (132 cards) and am slowly building a 1933 Goudey graded set without the Lajoie (offhand, I think that will clock in at 239 when done). I also have a partial 1978 Topps graded set that I really have no stomach for completing as that is a lot of commons in plastic. To each his own!
